To promote positive mental health through mindfulness.
Creating a relaxing and reflective relaxation space, for people to be with their thoughts, was this team’s response to nurturing mindfulness among their school community. They wanted to create somewhere that allowed people to distance themselves from the stresses and pressures of daily life for a little while. They recognised that allowing pressures to mount could have an adverse effect on mental health. With the help of their teachers and volunteers, this group of students involved their whole school community in creating an Ethos Garden in the school grounds.
This beautiful green space is now somewhere that people can go to connect with nature, sit in stillness and relaxation and cultivate a fresh perspective on whatever might be on their minds.
