The Idea
To raise awareness of supports available to young people when dealing with bereavement and loss.

The ACTION
The YSI project team conducted an extensive survey with students around the issue of bereavement. The group organised a school presentation by Rainbows, a charity which provides bereavement support to people. The project team raised awareness of bereavement by distributing information packs around the school. The team also spread their ‘happiness project’ around the school to promote positive mental health, leading to the organisation of a school mental health week.

The Impact
They raised awareness of the different types of bereavement as well as the supports available for young people. The importance of positive mental health has also been promoted to all students.
